Responsibilities
Installation of communications cabling and equipment in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.
Installation of basic equipment using hand tools and power tools.
Apply fundamentals of telecom systems including OSP & ISP Copper, CCTV, Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS), Fiber Optic & Structured Cabling.
Lead the installation of cable from Telecommunications Rooms (TR) to work area outlets (WAO) ensuring proper bundling and arrangement.
Perform termination, testing, and troubleshooting of horizontal copper (Cat 5, Cat 6) and fiber cables.
Lead quality assurance checks of team work to ensure compliance with requirements.
Maintain a clean work environment and participate in daily job site cleanup.
Secure company tools and materials daily.
Provide site documentation and qualify telecommunications infrastructure including copper & fiber cable mapping.
Coordinate with field‑project teams and provide leadership and solution‑driven initiatives.
Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures while operating hand and power tools.
Draft rack, floor, and wall elevations when required.
Support complex scopes for Healthcare, Government, Higher Education, Federal Aviation, and Mission Critical facilities.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum 8+ years of experience in telecommunications, overseeing installation of OSP & ISP Copper, CCTV, DAS, Fiber Optic & Structured Cabling within diverse construction industries.
BICSI certification required (Installer 1 at minimum for copper).
Experience in complex markets including Federal & Government facilities, Healthcare/Hospitals, Commercial buildings & Mission Critical facilities.
Ability to pass basic telecommunications knowledge test.
U.S. Citizenship required; active TOP SECRET clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI with polygraph is required.
Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
Reliable transportation to and from the appointed job site.
Demonstrated ability to read and understand plans and specifications.
Knowledge of TIA & EIA standards and color codes.
Physical Abilities
Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Relocate a 12‑foot stepladder without assistance.
Work at various heights up to 60 feet and climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders.
Walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
Possess good vision (may be corrected) and hearing to communicate in English.
