Overview

The Public Outreach and Marketing Administrator is dedicated to advancing public awareness and understanding of the essential role wastewater systems play in safeguarding community health, supporting sustainable practices, and protecting our natural environment. This role is pivotal in amplifying SPR’s visibility and solidifying its messaging to a diverse range of stakeholders, including the general public, government agencies, industry professionals, educational institutions, and community organizations. The Administrator will design, develop, and deliver high-impact content through various communication channels, driving engagement, fostering environmental literacy, and promoting SPR’s mission. This position requires a proactive approach, allowing for significant independent judgment, creativity, and decision-making with minimal supervision, ensuring the Administrator can effectively adapt to emerging opportunities and challenges in the public outreach space. None Key Responsibilities

Public Outreach: Oversees and executes SPR’s public education and outreach efforts by managing community events both during and outside of regular business hours; developing partnership, coalition, and sponsorship opportunities; managing all aspects of the SPR onsite tour program, while upholding tour safety guidelines and standards; and planning and implementing curriculum and educational programs for public, private and homeschool groups. Marketing and Brand Management: Develops and implements a strategic marketing communications and public relations plan to strengthen SPR’s brand identity and broaden public awareness by overseeing the production and design of printed materials and marketing promotional items; managing photography and other media for publication; producing videos and multimedia materials; and upholding branding and identity standards across all internal and external communication. Public Relations: Serves as the primary media liaison, supporting the development and implementation of PR strategies to increase SPR's media visibility by identifying and pitching earned and paid media opportunities; providing media training and messaging guidance to SPR spokespeople; developing messaging, public relations materials, and style guidelines to maintain consistent communications; and monitoring industry trends to keep SPR's communications current and aligned with organizational goals. SPR Website and Social Media Administration: Maintains, and updates, the SPR website and social media platforms, confirming the proper functioning of the website, domain registration, and hosting services; manages vendors for website development, maintenance, hosting, and DNS; creates engaging content for the website and social media channels, ensuring consistent branding and messaging that fosters meaningful connections with the community and encourages active participation; and developing and implementing a comprehensive organizational social media strategy to effectively engage and grow the online presence. Education: A bachelor’s degree in environmental, educational, or communications field required. Work Experience: A minimum of 5+ years of experience in relevant position. Certifications and/or Licensures: None Required Driver’s License: Valid Colorado driver’s license and a clear or acceptable MVR An equivalent combination of education, training and relevant job experience may be substituted. Salary Range

$79,928 - $119,892/Annual Salary Benefits

Work is performed in an office environment and in an industrial environment requiring sitting for extended periods of time. The job requires visual and physical capabilities to perform work on computers and associated equipment, sometimes for prolonged periods of time (4-6 hours daily). Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds. May work near moving mechanical parts and be exposed to fumes, pathogens, airborne particles, and various chemicals, some of which may be toxic.
