ABOUT THE MARKETING & OUTREACH MANAGER POSITION The Marketing & Outreach Manager advances Mulva Cultural Center’s mission by connecting the community to our exhibits, films, programs, and events through creative storytelling, strategic marketing, and authentic relationship‑building. This position blends hands‑on marketing execution with meaningful outreach to cultivate awareness, engagement, and belonging within the community.

The ideal candidate is both a communicator and a connector – someone who can design compelling campaigns, manage digital content, and build partnerships that inspire curiosity and participation. This position collaborates closely with the Events Manager to develop and promote events that showcase the Center’s offerings and strengthen its role as a gathering place where people, ideas, and cultures connect.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

Develop and implement marketing and outreach strategies to promote all the Center’s offerings, including exhibits, films, educational programs, and supportive services such as the gift shop, dining, special events, and space rental.

Create and manage engaging content across social media, website, and email platforms to tell the story of the Center’s mission‑based and supportive services and inspire curiosity and participation.

Coordinate the design, production, and distribution of marketing materials including brochures, posters, signage, press releases, and digital assets.

Maintain and update website content to ensure timely, accurate, and engaging information about exhibits, films, programs, and visitor opportunities.

Manage social media channels through consistent posting, audience engagement, and analytics tracking to assess impact and inform strategy.

Serve as a media contact, cultivating positive relationships with local and regional media outlets to increase visibility and coverage.

Develop and maintain partnerships with schools, nonprofits, businesses, civic organizations, and tourism entities to expand community connections and engagement.

Partner closely with the Events Manager to plan, promote, and execute events that highlight the Center’s offerings, attract new audiences, and foster meaningful community relationships.

Collaborate with internal teams to ensure brand consistency, cohesive messaging, and alignment across all marketing and communication channels.

Support data collection and reporting related to marketing performance, outreach activities, and audience engagement metrics.

Represent the Center at community events and public gatherings as a positive and enthusiastic ambassador.

Uphold and model the Center’s EPIIC values, striving for excellence, demonstrating passion, fostering innovation, acting with integrity, and promoting collaboration in all work.

Act as the leader on duty as needed, providing guidance and support to staff during events and operational activities to ensure smooth execution and a positive experience for visitors.

Assist with various tasks and projects to enhance the overall success of Mulva Cultural Center.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.

4+ years of professional experience in marketing, communications, or outreach; experience in the cultural, nonprofit, or tourism sector preferred.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling stories and connect with diverse audiences.

Proficiency with digital marketing tools and platforms, including social media management, email marketing, analytics, and website content management systems.

Experience coordinating marketing campaigns from concept through execution and evaluation.

Creative, organized, and detail‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Ability to build and sustain positive relationships with community partners, media, and stakeholders.

Collaborative team player who thrives in a mission‑driven environment and values open communication and teamwork.

Culturally competent and dedicated to supporting diverse teams and creating an inclusive, accessible, and welcoming environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.

Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

Ability to access and navigate every department throughout the Center.
