This employee responds to inputs from multiple phone sources—including switchboard traffic, physician hotline, hospice and cancer treatment centers, and walk‑up window traffic—providing rapid, accurate, and courteous service. They operate during after‑hours, weekends, and holidays as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide immediate response to physician hotline calls, facilitating transfers, connections, or location requests in a quick and courteous manner. Contact the on‑call administrator as requested by the House Supervisor, physicians, or other administrators. Page ancillary personnel on‑call after hours, weekends, and holidays upon physician or house supervisor request. Answer and facilitate hospice calls after hours, weekends, and holidays with courtesy and empathy; stay on the line with the caller as a comfort measure if needed. Answer and facilitate cancer treatment center calls after hours, weekends, and holidays with courtesy and respect for callers and families. Respond to TTY/TDD calls from deaf callers and transfer them to the appropriate department within the medical center, using proper terminology. Assist customers at the Service Window promptly, courteously, and friendly. Answer calls professionally, identifying self, area, and offering assistance in accordance with standard telephone courtesies. Demonstrate good listening skills, friendly tone of voice, and speak slowly and clearly. Qualifications
High school diploma or GED. Competency in Excel, Word, and AS400. Completion of switchboard training and successful post‑training competency testing. 1–3 years of related experience. Benefits
