According to established policies and procedures, relays incoming and outgoing telephone calls, and operates public address or paging systems. Provides answering services for doctors by receiving and relaying messages. Responds to codes and alarms by notifying appropriate personnel. Types messages, and maintains related files and records. Responsibilities And Duties
Answers ACD telephone system for multiple OhioHealth hospitals, using Amtelco, a PC based console program. Directs callers to proper area/person or departments as requested. Answers patient information calls and transfers as appropriate. Initiates emergency pages and announcements via the pocket paging system and overhead public address system. Answers emergency Code Phone and is solely responsible for contacting medical/support personnel for the following emergencies: Code Blues, Traumas, Code Assists, Code Alerts, Code Adams, Utility Alerts and Weather Alerts and many more. Answers patient hotline for Riverside, Grant, Doctors and Dublin hospitals and dispatches appropriate staff ensuring response to patients. Also takes hospital complaint, initiates processes as needed. Maintains daily on-call schedules. Responsible for making accurate changes on occasion in information for on-call personnel and calls in these on call persons as requested. Also takes after hours calls for clinical areas such as Hospice, answering service for Riverside Family Medicine, and more. On-call 24 hours night shift weekend rotating approx. every 3-4 months. Assists on special projects. Responsible for various other duties as requested. Monitors security cameras at several OhioHealth facilities to assist in the safety of the organization. Minimum Qualifications
High School or GED (Required) CPR - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation - American Red Cross Must become BLS certified with American Heart within 6 months of hire (this is dependent on home location; i.e., not applicable to all locations). Excellent verbal skills and have the ability to work simultaneously on several assignments. Six months to one year in high call volume environment. Additional Job Description
