We are looking for a talented Content Creator to join our team in Detroit. This is a long‑term contract role focused on producing engaging and impactful content across various digital platforms. The ideal candidate will excel in social media strategy, digital storytelling, and journalistic communications while being comfortable working in dynamic environments and traveling locally to gather compelling stories. This role will support the Communications team with public relations, content, and marketing related projects. A strong portfolio of social media content creation for a corporate or nonprofit environment is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute social media strategies and campaigns across platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter.
- Create engaging written and visual content for social media, websites, and internal communication channels.
- Conduct interviews and gather stories onsite to highlight activities and initiatives within the organization.
- Manage content creation tools such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite to produce high‑quality graphics and designs.
- Utilize photography and videography skills to capture meaningful moments and enhance brand storytelling.
- Collaborate with video teams to ensure cohesive multimedia content production.
- Monitor and analyze social media performance to optimize campaigns and improve engagement.
- Ensure content adheres to accessibility standards and aligns with organizational branding.
- Travel locally to various facilities within a 30‑mile radius to gather stories and create content.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continually improve content strategy.
Requirements
- Proven experience in social media management and content creation.
- Strong writing skills, including copywriting and editing for both short‑form and long‑form content.
- Proficiency in graphic design tools such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Familiarity with photography equipment and ability to capture high‑quality, detail‑oriented images.
- Ability to develop and implement social media strategies tailored to specific audiences.
- Comfortable conducting interviews and gathering stories in person.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards for social media and web content.
- Willingness to travel locally to various sites for content creation.
