Multimedia Systems Support Technician
Supervisor: Multimedia Instructional Technology Manager
Position Description
This position collaborates closely with faculty, SMEs, the information technology team, and the instructional design team to support the effective integration and use of technology for teaching and learning across multiple modalities.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate, schedule, maintain, deliver, and set up audio‑visual/media equipment across the campus during classes.
- Assist faculty/staff with the use of A‑V/Media equipment and organize and maintain an inventory of media equipment and supplies.
- Manage video recordings/live streams of various college activities.
- Manage, prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks/projects simultaneously in a deadline‑driven environment.
- Moderate physical activity. Requires handling objects of average weight up to fifty pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four hours per day.
- Produce and edit content for faculty presentations at their request.
- Support faculty/instructor usage of the podcast studio.
- Record, edit, and upload lectures for courses, both synchronous and asynchronous.
- Support faculty, staff, or students with video conferencing for all classroom activities.
- Assist in the Simulation Center as needed, including but not limited to the use of iSimulate, Learning Space, manakins, etc.
- Assist the Multimedia Instructional Technology Manager in updating, maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting VR/AR technology.
- Train faculty and students on the proper use of VR/AR technology.
- Maintain an excellent level of customer service.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- Associates degree in a related field preferred.
- Experience with Instructional Platform Technology preferred.
Key Competencies
- Proficiency in Windows and Mac environments.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with audio/visual support.
- Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro (or other video editing software) is beneficial.
- Familiarity with cloud storage.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Ability to maintain an excellent level of customer service with faculty, staff, and students.
- Working knowledge of safety equipment: gloves, eye and ear protection, etc.
