JR-0080859As a Solution Designer, you will play a crucial role in the growth of our intralogistics automation business in the BeNeLux area. You will provide technical expertise and design support to the sales team, developing innovative and cost-effective solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of our customers. You are based in Belgium and are willing to work from The Netherlands office at least once a week.# **We offer:**The primary focus of this role is to identify customer data and requirements and translate this in the best possible and winning automation solution, creating maximum added value for our customers. In general you are responsible for all technical elements in the offer, your main deliverables are a design of the best technical automation concept, a corresponding cost price calculation and project schedule.
The Solution Designer Automation will need to have experience with extended sales cycles of Automation Solutions at customers logistics & warehouse operations. You work closely together with the Sales Managers Automation of KION ITS/ILS in the relevant Sub Region.
You’re main stakeholders are customers, Sales Manager’s Automation, the internal (sales) team, partners and external suppliers. When necessary you join the Sales Manager’s Automation during customers presentations. You report directly to the Teamleader solution design.
You are familiar with key principles in supply chain & order fulfillment, logistic warehouse processes, the business of automated intralogistics solutions, its end users and main players.You have a solid understanding of the design steps from customer material flow and data analysis, business case, product selection & integration and solution design to create a complete and integral solution.
Finally you are familiar with the appropriate processes in the project sales cycles, with good understanding of typical capital investment topics, such as identifying business cases & ROI, Go/No Go and Bid/No Bid decisions, T&C’s and Contract Management, etc.Tasks:* Analyze customer needs thoroughly and create the right intralogistics automation solutions tailored to their specific requirements, considering factors like throughput, space, budget, and integration needs.* Consult with customers and internal teams to design the optimal intralogistics solution, ensuring feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with customer objectives.* Collaborate closely with the sales team to understand customer requirements and develop winning intralogistics automation solutions.* Build and maintain strong relationships with technical contacts at customer sites and partner organizations to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.* Maintain an in-depth understanding of automated intralogistics solutions for pallets and bins, including AS/RS systems, AGVs/AMRs, shuttle solutions, conveyor technologies, picking systems, and their appropriate applications in different industries and warehouse environments.* Analyze customer needs thoroughly and create the right intralogistics automation solutions tailored to their specific requirements, considering factors like throughput, space, budget, and integration needs.* Consult with customers and internal teams to design the optimal intralogistics solution, ensuring feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with customer objectives.* Support the sales team throughout the project sales cycle by providing technical expertise, developing compelling solution concepts, and creating impactful presentations.* Coordinate technical details effectively with internal teams (engineering, project management, service) and external partners to ensure seamless solution delivery and successful project execution.* Develop detailed technical documentation, including solution layouts, equipment specifications, and system architectures, to guide implementation and support future maintenance.* Stay informed about the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in intralogistics automation to continuously improve our solutions and stay ahead of the competition.# **Tasks and Qualifications:**## Qualifications:* Completed studies in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical), Logistics, Computer Science, or a related technical field.* Proven experience in solution design, system integration, or technical consulting within the automation or intralogistics industry.* Strong network of contacts in the intralogistics automation market is a plus.* In-depth understanding of automated intralogistics solutions for pallets and bins, including AS/RS systems, AGVs/AMRs, shuttle solutions, conveyor technologies, picking systems, and their appropriate applications in different industries and warehouse environments.* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess customer needs and develop optimal solutions.* Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.* Proficiency in 3D layouting with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CET Designer) and simulation tools (sim3D, Plantsim).* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational and time management skills.* Willingness to travel within the region.* Fluent in Dutch, English - French and German are a plus**STILL** provides tailor-made internal logistics solutions worldwide and provides smart networking solutions for forklift trucks and warehouse technology, software, services, and maintenance.
