General Function The Clinical Assistant Professor is a non‑tenure track position with responsibilities for clinical education and service. Clinical faculty may participate in research or other scholarly or creative activities.
Description of Primary Duties The faculty’s teaching responsibilities are assigned by the academic department head and may include serving as a faculty advisor to a student organization and/or student team for competitions. Primary teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate and/or graduate courses such as Operations Management, Purchasing and Supply Management, Business Process Management, Introduction to Logistics, Supply Chain Management and Logistics, and Supply Chain Management & Sustainability, among others, as needed. Teaching assignments will include seated, blended and/or online classes.
Provide service to the Department of Marketing, College of Business, Missouri State University, the local/regional community, and the profession.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications The minimum acceptable qualifications for the Clinical Assistant Professor rank are determined by the department and approved by the Dean and the Provost. Clinical Faculty must be qualified as defined by professional/discipline standards, have practical experience appropriate for the responsibilities assigned, and must maintain appropriate professional credentials.
Additional Qualifications Candidates for the clinical assistant professor position should hold a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Master of Science (MS) degree with an emphasis in Supply Chain/Logistics/Operations Management or a related discipline from an AACSB‑accredited institution with 18 graduate credit hours in the field and have 7+ years of professional supply chain management experience ending at a supervisory/executive level.
Demonstrated college teaching experience and experience with college students and student organizations as an advisor are required.
Candidates will also support the success of the student organization in the supply chain discipline, namely, the Logistics and Supply Chain Management Association (LSCMA).
The ability to work with and develop working relationships with colleagues and students is a must.
