Marketing & Business Development Coordinator – Legal Directory Submissions Join BCLP as a Marketing & Business Development Coordinator – Legal Directory Submissions. You will support proposal and client development initiatives, expand business relationships, and drive revenue growth across the firm.

Overview Reporting to the Proposal Manager (UK office), you will manage US Chambers and Legal500 submissions, oversee the firm’s key experience databases (Foundation, Dynamics, MSTeams), and deliver high‑quality metrics and analysis to stakeholders. You will also contribute to major pitches, proposals, and RFP responses.

Responsibilities

Legal Directory/Survey/Submission (Chambers and Legal500)

Maintain, update, and track deadlines, new submissions, guideline changes, and relevant communications.

Track rankings results, produce comparison charts, and conduct competitor research to improve rankings and identify new submission opportunities.

Collaborate with the business development team to prepare initial draft submissions and lead the entire submission lifecycle.

Lead and implement submission strategy with partners and BD team members.

Contribute and lead on key submission processes within the firm.

Maintain awards, accolades, and editorial commentary for all legal directory guides.

Update CRM usage year‑to‑year for Chambers and Legal500 directories.

Coordinate lawyer communications with client references, request reference response rates, and follow up with referees.

Coordinate interviews between researchers and partners, compiling talking points for directory ranking interviews.

Coordinate with communications to prepare and post press releases and website announcements for directory rankings and awards.

Participate in legal directory training modules for US, UK, and EMEA BD teams.

Industry, Market and Competitive Intelligence

Collaborate with BD Analysts to gather, analyze, and distribute intelligence on competitors, market conditions, and clients.

Proposal Development and Project Management

Collaborate with the global proposal team on multi‑practice and multi‑jurisdictional business opportunities.

Support special reporting projects related to proposals for Project Advance, Growth Engine, Accelerate Strategic Accounts programs, and ESG & Innovation data points.

Experience Management

Manage the library of Legal Directory submissions, FAQs, the submission resource centre, and submission database.

Skills and Experience Required

Demonstrated success managing marketing and business development initiatives with measurable results.

Experience in a highly entrepreneurial or start‑up environment.

Creative and innovative thinking with openness to new ways of working.

Strong marketing skills and deep understanding of submission processes in a law‑firm or professional‑services context.

Excellent written communication and project‑management skills.

Highly organized with impeccable attention to detail.

Ability to apply technology, process, and data analytics to deliver new legal products and services.

Autonomous work style and effective collaboration in a multi‑disciplinary team.

Confidence‑spiring leadership qualities.

Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to multi‑task under tight deadlines.

Openness to digital marketing and other innovative approaches.

Comfortable using marketing technology such as iManage, Foundation, Vuture, Dynamics CRM, WordPress, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and others.

Flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends.

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.

Minimum two (2) years’ marketing experience, preferably in legal innovation.

Preferably experience in a law‑firm or professional‑services environment.

Supervisory Responsibility This position may have indirect supervisory responsibilities with contributing business‑services teams.
