As a Foundation Communications Specialist, you will champion Wellstar’s mission to improve the health and well‑being of every person we serve. You will develop and deliver strategic communications that inspire donors, engage stakeholders, and elevate the Foundation’s impact across our communities.
Core Responsibilities & Essential Functions Communications & Content Development > Develop and execute communications plans that support fundraising, stewardship, and brand initiatives.
Create and manage content for digital and print channels, including donor stories, videos, reports, newsletters, and campaign materials.
Lead stewardship communications to recognize and engage donors with tailored messaging.
Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure consistent and effective messaging.
Support grant writing and reporting in collaboration with development officers.
Create infographics and visual elements for proposals and presentations.
Adapt writing style for different audiences, including corporate, individual, and foundation donors.
Ensure all communications are accurate, compelling, and reflect Wellstar’s values.
Digital Strategy & Stewardship
Develop digital marketing programs to attract and retain donors and build brand awareness.
Manage video and visual storytelling, including collaboration on patient stories and images.
Monitor communications effectiveness and recommend improvements.
Project & Knowledge Management
Organize and maintain content libraries and digital assets for communications needs.
Support planning and execution of fundraising events and campaigns with communications expertise.
Manage multiple projects, set deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
Gather and analyze information to support donor communications.
Collaboration & Relationship Building
Build positive relationships with stakeholders to gather stories and data for communications.
Facilitate cross‑department collaboration for consistent messaging.
Demonstrate ethics and integrity, integrating Wellstar’s mission and values into all communications.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Comply with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
Required Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s) All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.
Required Minimum Experience Minimum 5 years experience in communications, marketing, or related field.
Required Minimum Skills
Experience within nonprofit or fundraising environments.
Strong writing, editing, and project management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced setting.
Proficiency with digital communications platforms and tools.
Some knowledge of creative design software such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere, and Pro.
Some knowledge of project management software such as Wrike, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Loop, or similar.
Ability to initiate and complete projects with minimal supervision.
Ability to work independently while contributing successfully to cross‑functional teams.
Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of contacts, including senior executives and business associates.
Self‑motivated, focused, positive attitude, flexible, and proactive.Ability to project manage internal and external communications.
