Job Summary This Executive Director reports to the Vice President/CTO. This individual leads teams that deliver network services, capacity planning, unified communications planning and engineering, operational support, application technical platforms supporting infrastructure planning and business continuity and disaster recovery services. The role develops near-term tactical plans and a strategic, longer-range roadmap to increase automation, improve efficiency and service quality, and reduce the overall cost of ownership. The Executive Director is responsible for approximately $20M in capital spends and $30M in op-ex spend per year. The Executive Director supports the strategic business plans, applications, and all related matters for network, unified communications, and operations information technology for departments and facilities. The Executive Director manages customer deliverables and expectations as they relate to day-to-day support and operations. She/He designs, implements, and maintains the organization’s IT infrastructure, provides an architectural framework for information system development, maintenance and enhancement efforts, and ensures user and process requirements are met through high-quality deliverables.
Required Minimum Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
Required Minimum Experience
Minimum 15 years in information technology, including 8 years in a management role.
Minimum 5 years in healthcare is strongly preferred.
Experience with Security, Networks and Telecom.
Experience implementing complex and integrated information systems.
Technical foundation is required.
Required Minimum Skills
Excellent Project Management skills, including practical usage of Microsoft Project and knowledge of advanced Network, Telecommunication, and Security Operations.
Strong communication, presentation, and customer relation skills.
Ability to influence others to work collaboratively to achieve results.
Able to understand and relate to the interdependencies and impact of Information Systems on the operation of the WellStar Health System.
