Director of Business Development - Design & Consulting
In this role, you will be responsible for assisting new and existing clients in solving their capital project needs, generating new clients, supporting existing clients, and advancing the business development process. You will actively participate in the planning and execution of company marketing activities providing vital input based on your interactions with prospects.
Responsibilities
Leading and supporting national growth opportunities in the Food and Beverage, Manufacturing, and Consumer Products markets
Communicating regularly with regional office leadership, business development, and project managers
Conducting appropriate research to identify target companies/organizations within industry segments denoted in the business unit plan
Contacting, qualifying and setting appointments with targets via telephone and electronic means
Providing targets with appropriate Haskell marketing material and responses to specific interests identified by targets
Visiting qualified targets and/or arranging for personal sales calls by appropriate Haskell personnel
Preparing qualification statements and assisting in preparing responses to proposals for specific projects
Developing and maintaining relationships with local and national civic, professional, and economic organizations that are sources of prospects
Maintaining up-to-date prospect files and electronic databases
Developing and managing a public relations program to include marketing and customer outreach
Representing Haskell at trade shows, conventions, and professional meetings
Education/Experience
Minimum of a 4-year college degree or equivalent experience
Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering, construction marketing, or a related field
Required Skills
Demonstrated experience selling engineering services for private sector food & beverage/CPG manufacturing clients
Excellent communication, organization, and follow‑up skills
Excellent sales and customer relationship skills
Ability to understand and execute the company vision and values of Team, Excellence, Service, and Trust
