Position Summary:
The Global Center for Cultural Entrepreneurship Dba Creative Startups is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to unleashing the potential of the creative economy with a specific focus on empowering underserved communities through entrepreneurship, leadership, and workforce development programs. Our work directly addresses economic opportunity, educational access, and community capacity building, with an emphasis on improving quality of life for residents across New Mexico, particularly low‑income and historically underserved individuals.
Responsibilities
Support communications across multiple platforms, including scheduling and posting to social media, newsletters, and partner outlets
Organize and maintain digital files; create and communicate systems that make shared resources easy to locate and use
Assist in the development of communications strategy and content creation for community-focused programs (Harnessing the power of the creative economy creativestartups.org)
Research trends and identify potential partners, audiences, and community participants
Collaborate with staff on outreach campaigns that engage underserved communities and expand program access
Perform other communications and administrative duties as needed to support organizational goals
Other roles as assigned based on your strengths and interests within our organization
Growth Potential This position offers opportunities to take on additional responsibilities and grow into a Program Manager or other role aligned with the student’s strengths and interests.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Enrolled in a degree‑seeking program at UNM, enrolled at least half‑time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in communications, marketing, or administration preferred; strong organizational, research, and writing skills; ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and think creatively; commitment to improving community access to resources and opportunities; graduate or non‑traditional students encouraged to apply.
