The Role We are looking for a highly skilled Mechanical Designer with a strong background in machine design. The ideal candidate will be an expert in 3D modeling using
Autodesk Inventor
or
Fusion 360
and will have a proven track record of designing complex assemblies for manufacturing.
In this role, you will be a key link between the design team and the shop floor. Your ability to create detailed, accurate documentation and communicate effectively with our production and manufacturing engineers will be critical to your success. You will be responsible for the complete design lifecycle, including 3D modeling, 2D drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM) management.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop complex industrial machinery, automated systems, and mechanisms from concept to production.
Create robust and detailed 3D parametric models and large assemblies using
Autodesk Inventor and/or Fusion 360 .
Produce comprehensive 2D manufacturing drawing packages, including detailed component drawings, assembly layouts, and schematics.
Apply expertise in designing parts for various manufacturing processes, including
weldments, complex machined parts (milled and turned), and sheet metal .
Develop, maintain, and manage accurate
Bills of Materials (BOMs)
for all projects.
Collaborate closely with production and manufacturing engineers
to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability (DFM), assembly, cost, and serviceability.
Participate in design reviews, providing technical insight and guidance.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum of 5+ years
of professional experience in mechanical design, specifically focused on industrial machinery, automation, or complex equipment.
Expert-level proficiency in Autodesk Inventor OR Autodesk Fusion 360
(experience with both is a strong plus).
Demonstrable experience designing weldments, precision-machined components, and complex assemblies.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
Proven expertise in creating and managing multi-level Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Deep knowledge of creating detailed 2D drawings and documentation, including a strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Exceptional communication skills
(verbal and written) with the ability to build strong relationships with production and shop floor teams.
A meticulous eye for detail and a highly organized approach to documentation.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Design, Engineering Technology, or a related field is preferred.
