Assistant Studio Manager

Salary: $20-22/hour + commission
Job Summary Camarillo Fitness is a boutique fitness franchise focused on improving member experience through group exercise while still providing a unique and individualized regime for each member. We are seeking a qualified Assistant Studio Manager that is keen on driving sales and service excellence for our professional group fitness training facilities in our various markets. The position will begin as an ASM working side‑by‑side with the studio manager, supporting and optimizing daily operations. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth facility management, coordinate operational processes, and enhance the overall member experience, requiring strong organizational skills, sales acumen, and a passion for delivering exceptional service in the fitness industry.
Key Responsibilities
Properly manage and exceed all OTF sales and operational budgets
Lead and coordinate initial and ongoing sales drivers (pre‑sale events, studio events, outreach)
Oversee the sales process and systems
Help the SM manage, monitor, coach‑develop, and evaluate the performance of all OTF‑related managers and staff
Ensure compliance with OTF Business Policies for daily studio operations
Monitor hiring, training, and scheduling of all OTF studio staff
Aid in recruiting and onboarding all new OTF employees
Model all studio activities through self‑involvement (leading by example)
Train and mentor new hires for ongoing success and future growth
Maintain OTF branding through consistency and continuity in all actions
Empower, monitor, and evaluate specifically assigned responsibilities of sales and fitness teams
Assist in meeting performance metrics (KPI's), revenue, ordering, inventory, payroll, cost controls, and facility maintenance
Be promotionally oriented and direct sales through company outreach programs
Collaborate with leadership to implement new technologies and tools
Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices
Qualifications
Education:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in business or related field with 1+ years of management experience preferred
Ability to work and function in a team environment
Flexible to work day, evening, holiday, and/or weekend hours as needed
Health & Fitness minded, strong passion for fitness preferred
Proven sales leadership required
Excellent leadership and management skills to create a positive, fun, and successful environment for staff and clients
Min 1–2 years of previous sales experience required
Min 0.5–2 years of management experience required, including hiring, training, supporting, discipline, and termination
Previous management experience in health & fitness industry strongly recommended
Strong work ethic, integrity, and professional demeanor
Solid verbal and written communication skills required
Ability to multi‑task and manage client and staff concerns
Strong computer skills required with knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word)
Experience in managing facility operations and supporting customer service teams
Strong organizational and time management abilities
Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills
Proficiency in fitness management software (Mindbody preferred)
Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Familiarity with health and safety regulations in fitness facilities
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in fitness or wellness environments
Familiarity with membership management and CRM platforms
Knowledge of facility maintenance and gym equipment management
Experience supporting or managing multi‑location operations
MS Office platform and troubleshooting experience
