Music Therapist

Location: Psychiatry (College Hill) and Liberty Campuses. Schedule/Shift: Monday-Friday, Day Shift, 40 hours/week. Starting pay: $53,700 and up, based on years of experience. Benefits: Eligible, starting on your first day. Paid Time Off: 30 days per year, unused PTO rolls over. Career Advancement Ladder: Yes.

About the Job

  • Provide individualized and group music therapy sessions to pediatric patients.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (nurses, social workers, chaplains, etc.) to integrate music therapy into care plans.
  • Support the emotional, spiritual, and psychosocial needs of patients and families through music.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in music therapy from an accredited program required.
  • Certification by the Certification Board for Music Therapists (MT-BC) required.
  • Ohio State Music Therapy Licensure required.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

  • Experience working with children.
  • Strong musical proficiency across multiple instruments and vocal ability.
  • Trauma-informed care training or experience is a plus.
  • Compassionate, patient, and emotionally resilient.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to adapt musical interventions to diverse developmental and cultural needs.
  • Comfortable working in emotionally intense environments.
  • Creative and resourceful in engaging children with varying abilities and conditions.
