Job Summary Experienced Control4-certified technician responsible for high‑end residential AV and security system installation, programming, service, and customer support. Role requires advanced technical skills, independent problem solving, clean execution standards, and consistent professionalism in client homes. Work includes system integration across audio, video, lighting, networking, automation, and security platforms.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Service, install, and activate security systems, surround systems, speakers, TV hangs, remotes, shades, screens, advanced lighting controls, and systems requiring Control4 automation or programming

Review work orders with customers and communicate professionally

Train end users on system operation

Apply advanced knowledge of security system wiring, functions, and operation

Work with systems including NX, SimonXTi, 2Gig, DSC, Qolsys

Support after‑hours emergency service calls on rotation

Create and edit Control4 IR drivers

Install and program shades and screens

Terminate multimode fiber

Calibrate projectors and receivers for optimized audio and video

Troubleshoot and resolve issues independently

Perform duties at the Trim Tech II and III and AV Security Technician II level

Complete additional assigned tasks

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Minimum three years in security and AV installation

Active Control4 Associate Installer and Automation Programmer certifications required

Control4 Food and Beverage Client certification preferred

Centralized Lighting certification preferred

Lutron Lighting certification preferred

Strong cable type recognition and application judgment

Ability to assess system designs and determine required components

Competence with networking setups including routers, switches, DVRs, network components, and WAPs

Ability to work under pressure while maintaining service standards

Clean and unobtrusive work habitsAbility to work independently

Basic tools required or willingness to acquire them

Ability to pass background check and drug screen

Clean MVR

Technical or vocational schooling preferred

Physical Requirements

Regular standing, walking, kneeling, reaching, and communication

Frequent use of step and extension ladders

Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds

Occasional lifting up to 100 pounds

Work Environment

Active construction sites

Temperature shifts, humidity changes, and dust exposure

Moderate noise levels
