Audio-Visual Administrator
JOB SUMMARY Responsible for administering, maintaining, and optimizing Microsoft Teams meetings and conferencing solutions across the enterprise. This role ensures reliable, high‑quality audio and video experience for on‑site and remote team members. Duties include setup and configuration of Teams meeting devices, troubleshooting audio/video issues, supporting live events, and working with various teams including our preferred AV partner. Providing support and recognized as a subject matter expert in Teams conferencing and AV support for all Pella sites.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Install, configure, and maintain Teams meeting devices and conferencing solutions with assistance from preferred vendors
Partner with Corporate Communications team on planning and execution of large events (i.e., Quarterly Forum)
Advise business partners and executive admins on best practices for hosting events
Customer‑minded approach with ability to react quickly to time‑sensitive situations
Monitor performance of Teams meetings and AV setups; implement tuning strategies to ensure high‑quality experiences
Design and manage backup, recovery, and high‑availability solutions
Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to optimize meeting workflows and device configurations
Create and maintain documentation for Teams and AV setups
Perform capacity planning, forecast future needs, and work to eliminate outdated conferencing equipment
Manage backup planning and testing for critical conference rooms
Stay current with Teams conferencing features, AV best practices, and emerging collaboration technologies
On‑call support and maintenance during and after normal business hours as well as weekends (as needed)
RESPONSIBILITY BREAKDOWN Percentages represent guidelines only; may vary by position and fluctuate due to changing business needs.
50% – Ensure reliable, secure, and high‑performing Teams meeting and AV environments. Quarterly Forums, department meetings, corporate events, and other events/meetings/sessions conducted at corporate meeting spaces.
20% – General support (troubleshooting Teams meetings, audio/video issues, device installations, etc.) and training of end users.
15% – Backup, recovery, and high‑availability for conferencing systems. Implement and manage strategies for data protection and uptime in AV environments.
10% – Documentation and compliance. Maintain accurate records of Teams meeting setups, AV configurations, policies, and procedures.
5% – Capacity planning and monitoring. Track usage trends, forecast future needs, and eliminate outdated conferencing equipment.
TECHNICAL AND FUNCTIONAL SKILLS
Proficiency in Microsoft Teams administration, including meetings, conferencing, device management, and troubleshooting.
Strong understanding of audio/visual (AV) technologies and conferencing systems (preferably Microsoft Teams).
Experience in supporting Microsoft PowerPoint, including presenting with PowerPoint Live in Teams.
Ability to install, configure, and maintain various Teams meeting devices and AV solutions, including performance tuning and firmware updates.
Troubleshooting network issues related to conferencing devices and meetings.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
1+ years of hands‑on experience with Microsoft Teams conferencing or related.
