Bechtel is the licensing, engineering, procurement, and construction partner on TerraPower's Natrium team. Selected by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for its Advanced Reactor demonstration Program, Natrium is participating in a DOE initiative to re-establish U.S. leadership in nuclear energy that provides matching funds to industry to design and build an operational advanced reactor. Job Summary
In this role, you will use 2-D/3-D computer-aided design (CAD) to develop designs for Control Systems engineering such as Instrument Installation Drawings, Instrument Location Drawings, control cabinet layouts, etc. You will be required to navigate the 3D model to locate instrumentation, racks, panels, cabinets and other misc. Control Systems commodities. Major Responsibilities
Generates 2D design drawings or 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models of moderate complexity Develops Control Systems design drawings, such as Instrument Installation Details (IIDs), Instrument Location Drawings (derived from 3D model), Panel/Cabinet/Rack detail drawings, etc. Monitors and checks work for compliance with approved Control Systems design standards to provide quality design, reliable/safe plant operation and construction economy Performs interference checks for Control Systems commodities within the 3D modeling software Participates in constructability reviews Reviews Control Systems design scope changes, as required Education And Experience Requirements
Requires bachelor's or associate's degree and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience Required Knowledge And Skills
Must be a U.S. citizen Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational and attention to detail skills Excellent planning and time management skills Proficient in Microsoft 365 application suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) Proficient in 2D drawing generation and 3D modeling (e.g., SPM) Total Rewards/Benefits
