The Press Operator is an essential member of the team, responsible for the manufacturing of printed labels while continuously monitoring label quality and press conditions.

Responsibilities

Adhere to all plant and corporate safety rules, procedures, and guidelines.

Report all safety concerns or issues to immediate supervisor.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment through daily housekeeping.

Complete make‑ready according to Job Ticket and Product Specification documents to ensure correct print cylinders, inks, substrates, tooling, and anilox rollers.

Perform required quality checks related to product specifications, visual, and functional checks. Complete all press‑side quality checks.

Operate press to produce product in accordance with customer specifications while maintaining quality, waste reduction, and press efficiency.

Maintain consistent quality during production run, with critical quality checks including copy, color, registration, and ink adhesion, ensuring conformance to all other quality checks.

Complete all related procedures, work instructions, and quality measurements as outlined in the BRC standard.

Finish press make‑readies efficiently.

Execute all required equipment maintenance duties.

Clean plate, cylinder, and ink pans, and lubricate press as needed.

Input all required information into the GlobeTek system for material usage and time accurately and promptly.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.

One to five years as a printing press operator – lithographic experience preferred.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret internal and external communications to perform job duties.

Effective interpersonal skills.

Basic math skills: adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Ability to determine root cause of problems and corrective action.

Proficient knowledge of production materials, quality methods, and color standards.

Excellent mechanical aptitude.

Computer prepress/preflight knowledge preferred. Advanced computer skills needed.

Occasionally able to lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
