Overview
We are hiring a creative, talented, and experienced Interior Design Manager for our client to lead their design team and oversee high-profile residential and senior living projects. This role combines strong creative vision with technical expertise and leadership. The Interior Design Manager will guide the design process, mentor staff, and ensure projects are delivered with excellence, precision, and innovation. Key Responsibilities
Design Leadership – Lead the creative direction of projects, from conceptual development through construction documentation. Establish and maintain design themes aligned with project goals. Project Management – Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring budgets, schedules, and deliverables are met. Collaborate directly with clients, architects, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution. Technical Execution – Manage the production of design documents, including finish specifications, elevations, FF&E, furniture plans, CDs, lighting, and interior architectural details. Ensure all drawings comply with building codes and industry standards. Team Leadership & Mentorship – Provide guidance and mentorship to the design team, fostering growth, accountability, and creative excellence. Client Engagement – Represent the firm with professionalism and polish. Build strong client relationships through clear communication, responsiveness, and creative problem-solving. Vendor & Partner Coordination – Work with vendors, consultants, and contractors to translate design intent into built form, maintaining quality and design integrity. Travel – Manage projects across the United States with occasional international travel as required. Qualifications
7+ years of residential design experience, including project leadership. Prior experience managing and mentoring a design team. Proficient in REVIT/AutoCAD; knowledge of Design Manager and accounting software is strongly preferred. NCIDQ certification (or in pursuit). Expertise in all phases of design: concept, design development, documentation, and construction administration. Strong creative design abilities with a portfolio that demonstrates innovation and sophistication. Skilled in budget management and client-facing project management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to balance multiple priorities.
