We’re seeking a dynamic and strategic Field Marketing Manager to lead the field marketing efforts across California for a high‑growth cannabis company. The ideal candidate will develop and execute on‑the‑ground marketing strategies, build and scale local programs, manage cross‑functional campaigns, and work closely with sales and channel partners to drive brand awareness and market share.
Key Responsibilities
Define the field marketing strategy for California: design local market planning, channel strategy, event and experiential programs, trade marketing, and grassroots activations.
Build and manage relationships with regional teams, channel/distribution partners, and on‑site field personnel to ensure consistent brand execution.
Plan and execute marketing campaigns at the local level — including sampling/tastings, brand activations, merchandising, pop‑ups, events, and in‑store initiatives.
Manage a field marketing budget and track performance metrics (e.g., ROI, reach, engagement, conversion) to optimize spend and activities.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders (brand marketing, digital, sales operations, channel marketing) to ensure alignment of messaging and objectives.
Develop go‑to‑market plans for new product launches in California, including market readiness, field assets, training materials, partner enablement, and measurement.
Lead, train, and mentor any direct reports or agency support; build best practices for field marketing execution and reporting.
Travel frequently across California (in‑market, events, channel visits) to support field teams and measure impact.
What You Bring
5+ years of field marketing, regional marketing, or experiential marketing experience for a consumer‑facing brand (preferably in a highly regulated or fast‑moving category).
Proven track record of planning and executing multi‑channel field/experiential marketing programs that drove measurable results.
Excellent collaboration skills across functions (sales, operations, digital, creative) and ability to manage agency/partner relationships.
Strong analytical orientation: able to set up KPIs, track and report field program performance, and optimize based on data insights.
Self‑starter with strong project management skills. Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
Comfortable operating in a dynamic, rapidly growing environment and adapting to evolving business priorities.
Willingness to travel frequently within the state.
Seniority level: Mid‑Senior level
Employment type: Full‑time
Job function: Marketing and Management
