Our client, a dynamic architecture and design firm based in Long Island City, is known for blending innovation with functionality to deliver impactful environments. Their diverse portfolio spans hospitality, retail, nightlife, restaurants, educational facilities, and large‑scale mixed‑use developments—many of which have been featured in national media. Current work includes hotel new builds and renovations, restaurants, casinos, multifamily residential, senior living, and multiple food‑focused projects for a leading global tech company.
Description:
Our client is seeking an
Intermediate Interior Designer
with strong hospitality and
hotel project experience
to join their collaborative team. This role involves contributing to all phases of design—from concept development and FF&E through documentation and coordination—with a particular emphasis on
custom furniture design and hand/digital sketching . Ideal candidates bring creativity, technical strength, and the ability to take ownership of design tasks within a fast‑paced, design‑driven studio.
Responsibilities
Develop design concepts, presentations, and narratives alongside senior team members
Produce
custom furniture sketches , details, and design intent drawings
Lead and support FF&E sourcing, selections, and documentation
Prepare presentation materials, renderings, and sample boards
Contribute to the development of drawing sets, including plans, elevations, millwork, and specifications
Coordinate with vendors, fabricators, reps, and consultants
Participate in client meetings and site visits as needed
Required
3–5 years
of professional interior design experience (hotel experience required)
Ability to sketch and develop
custom furniture designs
(hand or digital)
Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
Strong understanding of materials, finishes, and hospitality design standards
Excellent communication, organization, and time‑management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
Education Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited program required.
Salary / Hourly 70‑80k annually
