Looking for an
Automotive CAD expert who can design detailed 3D car specifications and help build an interactive web experience.
When a user clicks on a car image (online), an X-ray view automatically displays internal specifications of components like the engine, battery, suspension, and drivetrain. CAD model must be optimized for web (GLB/GLTF) and integrated into a clickable interface using Three.js or similar. Experience in automotive systems design and digital twins is preferred. Example of how the feature works
User sees car on website → clicks the engine → 3D model fades into X-ray mode → engine highlights → pop-up shows specs like "Twin Turbo 3.0L — 400hp — Magnesium Alloy" Work Breakdown
CAD Modelling & Specification Build or refine 3D CAD models of the car and its internal components Annotate or link specs (performance, dimensions, materials) Conversion for Web Convert models using Blender → GLTF/GLB Simplify for fast loading (LOD, decimation, texture bake) Interactive Development Use Three.js or React Three Fiber Add clickable zones (engine, wheels, battery, etc.) Apply transparent/X-ray materials when active UI Integration When clicked, show a panel with specs Optionally animate parts (explode view)
