Key Responsibilities
Prepare and process customs entries for air & ocean import shipments.
Review commercial documents (invoices, packing lists, bills of lading) to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
Classify goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS).
Verify duty rates, free trade agreement eligibility, PGA (Partner Government Agency) requirements, and other compliance elements.
Submit entries via ACE and monitor for Customs releases, exams, and holds.
Communicate with clients regarding shipment status, required documents, and compliance matters.
Coordinate with carriers, warehouses, and internal departments to ensure smooth cargo movement.
Maintain accurate records and ensure all documentation meets Customs and company standards.
Stay current on U.S. Customs regulations, rulings, and industry best practices.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience as a Customs Entry Writer or in a customs brokerage role.
Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, HTS classification, and PGA requirements.
Experience with ACE, ABI software platforms, and standard freight forwarding systems.
