About The Role
The position’s primary responsibilities are checking federal and state court dockets, monitoring regulatory databases and websites, and pitching story ideas to editors. News Assistants also track congressional hearings and other noteworthy events. The job will eventually include opportunities to report and write some news articles. Responsibilities
Check federal and state court dockets. Monitor regulatory databases and websites. Pitch story ideas to editors. Track congressional hearings and other noteworthy events. Report and write news articles as opportunities arise. Qualifications
Demonstrated research and writing skills. Solid organizational skills. Preferences
Media or publishing industry experience. Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field. Benefits
