Sierra‑at‑Tahoe is looking for a creative and organized marketer with strong storytelling, copywriting and design skills to help bring the Sierra voice to life across digital, social and guest communication channels. This role blends content production with brand execution, turning the resort’s strategic direction into compelling messaging, social content, collateral and campaigns.
This dynamic role owns Sierra’s social media presence, oversees content needs, creates mid‑level graphic design assets, supports PR and maintains the tone and visual consistency of the brand. You’d collaborate with a tight‑knit marketing team that includes digital, events, group sales and content roles, all working together to deliver unforgettable guest experiences. Duties and Responsibilities
Brand + Messaging
- Translate the resort’s brand strategy and tone into clear, engaging content and campaigns
- Develop messaging frameworks for products, events, pass sales and resort initiatives
- Write copy across social, ads, email, website updates, press materials and guest communications
- Maintain brand consistency and update brand templates and creative assets
- Manage two Snow Reporters, ensuring timely and accurate daily snow reports and guest communications
Content Creation + Creative Direction
- Manage Content Coordinator, assigning and approving content created
- Develop and manage the content calendar for marketing and guest communications
- Concept and direct photo and video shoots, working with athletes, contractors and internal staff
- Serve as primary in‑house designer for social graphics, ads, posters and creative materials
- Manage creative templates, brand asset libraries and visual guidelines
Social Media
- Own daily posting and monitoring across Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok and more
- Write captions, schedule posts and maintain platform‑specific best practices
- Monitor comments, messages and trends to maintain community engagement
- Track analytics and prepare monthly performance reports with insights
- Partner with the Content Coordinator for content capture and fast‑turnaround needs
Public Relations + Communications Support
- In collaboration with the Director of Sales and Marketing, draft press releases, media advisories, talking points and reactive statements
- Support inbound media inquiries and coordinate assets such as photos, b‑roll and information
- Plan and oversee the execution of media and influencer visits
- Maintain press kits, templates and media‑ready content
- Draft initial crisis communications messaging for review by leadership
Athlete Team Oversight
- Provide direction and expectations for the Sierra Athlete Program
- Develop content plans, deliverables and story concepts with athlete partners
- Review athlete content for quality, brand alignment and creative fit
- Collaborate with the Content Coordinator on scheduling and logistics
Other Duties
- Assist with marketing promotions, sales efforts and creative needs across the resort and occasionally in town / in the Bay Area
- Support collateral, signage and template design as needed
- Participate in on‑mountain shoots and storytelling moments
- Project management via Wrike or similar tools
Ideal Candidate
- Expert / advanced skier or snowboarder
- Strong copywriting and storytelling skills
- Creative eye with the ability to concept and direct visual content
- Mid‑level graphic design ability using Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience managing social media channels and content strategy
- Ability to provide clear and actionable creative direction
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- High attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple priorities
- Comfortable working independently while aligning with brand strategy
- Familiarity with the ski or outdoor industry a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross‑functionally
- Experience managing a budget

Responsibilities to Safety
- Protect the safety of self, co‑workers, and Sierra‑at‑Tahoe Resort guests at all times.
- Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.
- Report safety‑related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in marketing, communications, graphic design, PR, or related field
- Three or more years of experience in marketing, content creation, or brand‑related roles
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) preferred
- Experience with social media platforms, content calendars, and analytics tools
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Resort certification on any necessary equipment.
