Job Description

Mount Holyoke College's Office of Marketing and Communications is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Graphic Designer to join our Strategic Content team. You will be instrumental in stewarding the Mount Holyoke brand by creating engaging and elevated designs across all platforms—bringing a fresh, innovative approach while working within our established aesthetic. This is a hybrid position offering flexibility with in-person/on-campus time, but requires the ability to travel to campus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, design, and produce visually stunning materials for a wide variety of communications channels, including print, web, social media, and email.
  • Contribute expertise to critical decisions regarding layout, typography, and the selection/use of photography and videography.
  • Collaborate closely with the creative team, content creators, and campus partners to bring campaigns to life.
  • Ensure all creative assets are on-brand, engaging, and meet the highest standards of quality and detail.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of a BA/BFA from an accredited four-year college/university, arts college, or design program.
  • 1–3 years of professional experience in graphic design, demonstrating strong conceptual, design, and typography skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Adobe Suite, with proficiency in InDesign and Illustrator being essential.
  • Strong project management skills and a keen, uncompromising attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and learn quickly in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • A proactive attitude toward problem-solving and effectively addressing client feedback.
  • Comfortable taking creative direction and feedback constructively.

Note: Occasional weekend and evening work may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Major, minor, or programmatic focus in graphic design.
  • Experience with Canva.
  • Experience in web and mobile design.
  • Thorough knowledge of email and newsletter design best practices.

Salary Range: $60,957- $68,577

NOTE: This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. To apply for this position, you must already possess the legal right to work in the United States. Mount Holyoke College will not provide the necessary sponsorship to secure a work visa.
