Role Description

This full-time hybrid role of Freelance Court Reporter is based in the Utica-Rome Area, with opportunities to work both on-site and remotely. Responsibilities include accurately documenting court proceedings, depositions, and testimonies, as well as transcribing records verbatim. The role also involves preparing final transcripts in compliance with legal standards and acting as a notary when required.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Court Reporting, including capturing and transcribing proceedings accurately
• Strong transcription skills and the ability to create precise legal documentation
• Knowledge of Court Proceedings and handling testimony with attention to detail
• Notary Public certification or eligibility to become a notary is preferred
• Excellent time management, organizational skills, and professional demeanor
• Strong command of legal terminology and processes relevant to court reporting
• Experience with stenography equipment and transcription software is an advantage
