Overview
WJZ is currently seeking a dedicated and proficient Studio Technician to join our team on a full-time basis. In this pivotal role, you will assume a range of responsibilities, encompassing but not limited to the following key areas: NLE editor, stage manager, studio lighting, jib operator, robotics operation, Sony video switcher, prompter operator, and control room assistance for high-paced newscasts, live streaming broadcasts, sports programs, and specialized content production.

Responsibilities
- NLE editor for pre-recorded and live video content, ensuring high quality and seamless delivery.
- Stage management and control room support during fast-paced broadcasts.
- Studio lighting setup and operation, including jib and robotics where applicable.
- Operate Sony video switcher and prompter to support production workflows.
- Provide support for live streaming broadcasts, sports programs, and specialized content production.
Qualifications
- Strong video editing skills with experience in editing pre-recorded and live content.
- Proficiency with industry-standard editing software (Edius / Avid / Premiere).
- Fundamental camera techniques, lighting principles, newsroom rundown systems (e.g., iNews or ENPS), and studio/control room operations.
- Minimum of 2 years applicable experience preferred; college degree considered an asset.
- Flexibility in scheduling, including availability for weekend and holiday shifts.
- Proficiency in coding for Sony ELC systems (asset).
- Proficiency as an NLE editor is required.
- Ability to work effectively under fast-paced deadlines in a collaborative team environment.

Hiring Salary Range: $60,000.00 - 70,000.00. This range applies to multiple geographies; starting pay depends on factors including location, experience, and education. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, disability benefits, tuition assistance, and PTO, as applicable by the relevant collective bargaining agreement.
