Studio Technician Join to apply for the Studio Technician role at CBS News and Stations.

WJZ is currently seeking a dedicated and proficient Studio Technician to join our team on a full-time basis. In this pivotal role, you will assume a range of responsibilities, encompassing but not limited to the following key areas: NLE editor, stage manager, studio lighting, jib operator, robotics operation, Sony video switcher, prompter operator, control room assistance for high-paced newscasts, live streaming broadcasts, sports programs, and specialized content production.

Requirements

Strong video editing skills are essential for this position, as you will be responsible for editing both pre-recorded and live video content, ensuring a high standard of quality and seamless delivery.

Proven proficiency in industry‑standard editing software (Edius / Avid / Premiere) is required.

Prior experience in fundamental camera techniques, lighting principles, familiarity with newsroom rundown systems (e.g., iNews or ENPS), and proficiency in studio and control room operations.

A minimum of 2 years of applicable experience is highly preferred. A college degree is also considered an advantage.

Flexibility in work scheduling, including availability for weekend and holiday shifts, is essential.

Qualifications

Proficiency in coding for Sony ELC systems is a strong asset.

Proficiency as a NLE editor is mandatory.

Demonstrated ability to perform effectively under fast paced situations while adhering to deadlines, particularly in collaborative team environments.

Additional Information Hiring Salary Range: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job‑related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
