Job Summary
Responsible for advanced level development, testing, implementation and maintenance of all facets of web-based application systems for a campus unit. May serve as project lead on applications impacting multiple units and provide direction to Web Developers.
The Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech and Emory University is seeking a Senior Web Developer to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing web development projects, including building new web pages and overseeing web applications. This is an onsite position and applicants should have strong experience and up-to-date knowledge of the latest web development technologies.
Responsibilities
- Conduct web‑based applications development and implementation consistent with unit needs.
- Maintain assigned applications, providing issue resolution in a timely manner.
- Maintain all required documentation related to unit web applications.
- Provide direction and leadership for web‑related project assignments.
- Prepare project schedules and budgets.
- Prepare formal and informal status reports and presentations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Six to eight years of job‑related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of CMS systems including Drupal and WordPress.
- Strong knowledge and experience with hosting platforms including Pantheon, Plesk, etc.
- Experience with webpage design.
- Understanding of UX/UI.
- Knowledge and experience with SEO and GA4/Google Analytics.
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript, PHP, and SQL.
- Solid experience in coding with strong knowledge of semantic HTML, CSS, Accessibility, and web frameworks.
Proposed Salary
Salary commensurate with experience:
63,158 - 80,000
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
This job requires advanced knowledge and skills in configuration and deployment of web applications including database design, web‑based scripting languages and web standards. Additionally, skills in project management, work leadership, presentation, customer service and problem solving are required.
