Job Title: Lead/Senior UX Designer

Location: Spring, Texas

Experience: 7–12 Years

The Upstream division of Client makes multi‑million dollar decisions daily to locate and produce energy products that power and enable communities worldwide. These decisions require a team of the most talented scientists, engineers, and operators to collect and analyze large, highly technical data. They often work with manual, inefficient tools and processes.

As a Design Lead on our UX design team, you will lead UX projects for a small team of designers and researchers, design innovative, research‑based solutions to tough technical problems, and develop domain knowledge by working closely with development and project teams to ensure the designed solution is implemented.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of UX designers and researchers, managing work intake, communicating timelines and resource needs with the larger UX team, stakeholders, and project teams.
• Design innovative solutions that make users more productive, allowing them to focus on tough challenges rather than tools.
• Understand research findings and incorporate them into your designs.
• Communicate designs through sketches, wireframes, and prototypes as needed.
• Design elegant interfaces and processes that simplify the complex.
• Collaborate with other UX team members, stakeholders, and project teams.
• Adapt and flex to dynamic project needs and priorities.
• Collaborate with other designers to critique and build on design standards, contributing to the upstream technical design language.
• Maintain project flexibility, nimbleness, and velocity to respond to dynamic business needs.
• Educate and advocate for proper design principles and processes.

Skills & Qualifications

• UX Leadership: has led small teams, managed stakeholders, and mentored others.
• History of providing business value through User Experience Design.
• Experience in Oil & Gas or IT Operations is a differentiator.
