To lead integrated marketing and communications strategies that elevate client visibility, strengthen brand reputation, and deliver measurable business results for PMG and its clients

POSITION OVERVIEW

Pence Media Group (PMG) is seeking a Senior Marketing + Communications Strategist to drive integrated campaigns that elevate client visibility, strengthen reputation, and deliver measurable results across private, public, and nonprofit sectors. This hybrid role blends high-level marketing and PR strategy with hands‑on campaign execution—making it ideal for a strategist who thrives in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.

You’ll play a key role in shaping narratives, leading multi-channel marketing initiatives, securing earned media, and ensuring campaigns are strategically aligned with client goals. This role will work closely with the Director of Marketing Services + Strategic Communications to guide client strategies and oversee implementation.

We’re looking for someone with sharp marketing instincts and the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, compelling campaigns that resonate across platforms. A passion for storytelling, confidence in client leadership, and a results-driven mindset are essential. This is a full‑time, hybrid position, with the expectation that you will contribute 40 hours per week, with in-person meetings in the Indianapolis area or at our headquarters in Carmel.

YOUR IMPACT ZONE

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business, or related field (Master’s a plus)

10+ years of progressive experience in marketing, public relations, or integrated communications—preferably in an agency or consulting environment

Proven track record of leading integrated marketing + PR campaigns from strategy through execution, delivering measurable results in brand visibility, engagement, and ROI

Expertise in marketing strategy development, including campaign planning, audience segmentation, messaging frameworks, and KPI measurement

Strong thought leadership and writing skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives, media pitches, op‑eds, press releases, and campaign copy

Advanced ability to translate analytics into actionable insights, using tools like Google Analytics, social platform insights, and AI-powered reporting dashboards

Proven ability to leverage AI in marketing and PR, including:

AI-driven content ideation + drafting (e.g., ChatGPT)

AI-powered social listening, trend forecasting, and sentiment analysis

Workflow automation and campaign optimization using AI/automation platforms

Ethical and compliant application of AI in brand communications

Proficiency in digital marketing channels (social media, influencer, email, SEO/SEM, paid campaigns) with the ability to integrate AI-driven personalization and testing into strategies

Skilled at client leadership and stakeholder management—confident presenting strategy and results to executives, including AI-driven insights and forecasts

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts, lead cross-functional teams, and deliver high-quality work under deadlines

A strategic, forward-looking mindset with the ability to anticipate industry shifts, adopt new technologies, and position PMG and its clients as innovators

ROLES + RESPONSIBILITIES

STRATEGIC MARKETING STRATEGY, DEVELOPMENT + EXECUTION

Develop, execute + lead integrated marketing and PR campaigns that align with client objectives and business goals

Contribute to marketing planning sessions and strategic brainstorms

Provide proactive strategic counsel on emerging marketing and communications trends, including the ethical use of AI

Oversee implementation of integrated campaigns across earned, owned, and paid channels

Deliver clear, data-backed reporting that demonstrates ROI, brand visibility, and audience engagement

Collaborate with content, creative, and digital advertising teams to ensure cohesive execution

Lead internal PMG marketing initiatives that strengthen brand visibility and thought leadership

CLIENT ENGAGEMENT + ACCOUNT LEADERSHIP

Act as senior strategic advisor and point of contact for select accounts, managing client relationships with clarity and confidence

Present campaign strategies, media opportunities, and performance results directly to clients and stakeholdersAnticipate client needs, resolve issues quickly, and ensure consistent alignment between client expectations and PMG’s strategic recommendationsActively participate in virtual and in-person meetings with executive presence and strategic input TOOLS + PLATFORMS

Advanced proficiency across core marketing, communications, and analytics platforms, with a strong understanding of SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush, Moz, Ahrefs), CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce), email automation platforms (Klaviyo, Mailchimp, HubSpot Marketing Hub), and conversion tracking frameworks. Able to translate data into actionable insight, optimize campaigns for measurable outcomes, and build systems that improve lead generation, audience segmentation, and lifecycle marketing.

Familiarity with AI-powered tools (ChatGPT, Jasper, Midjourney, Brandwatch, etc.) for content ideation, audience research, competitive analysis, and performance optimization is required — with the ability to use AI as a strategic multiplier, not just a production shortcut.
