Structural Designer
Location:
Charlotte, NC
Salary:
$55,000 – $90,000 per year
Job Description
Reports to Director of Engineering
Operate according to company’s core values
Occasional travel
Use AutoCAD to produce accurate construction and shop drawings
Use DH CAD (proprietary company software) to develop preliminary drawings for the sales team
Perform structural calculations for company components
Understand and apply relevant sections of AASHTO, ACI, ASCE and governing building codes
Peer review and check drawings for accuracy
Develop a high level of understanding for our precast concrete boardwalk product and manufacturing practices
Participate in engineering workload meetings as required
Qualifications
Degree in Civil Engineering Technology
Proficient in AutoCAD
Ability to work on fast‑paced projects
Ability to work within a team, sharing workloads to meet deadlines
Highly organized, punctual, detail‑oriented, and able to juggle multiple projects
Ability to understand/read construction drawings from consultants
Ability to develop full sets of construction and fabrication drawings
Requires strong verbal and written communication skills
Able to work under minimal supervision
