The Associate Director of Advancement Communications is a member of Loyola Academy’s dynamic Development team and reports to the Director of Annual Giving. This role encompasses digital marketing, social media, and print design & production. Tasks include storytelling, writing & design, branding, stewardship, and strategic outreach & communications across Loyola’s fundraising and alumni relations teams. It is a fast‑paced role that seeks a mid‑level professional who embodies creativity and has a team‐oriented mindset. The Associate Director supports Loyola Academy’s fundraising and alumni engagement strategy and goals.

Key Responsibilities

Write and design compelling donor communications including annual appeals, solicitation letters/emails, stewardship pieces, impact reports, data visualization, and campaign‐related materials.

Develop content, design, and produce digital marketing emails—Annual Fund solicitations, Planned Giving outreach, alumni eNews (quarterly), LA Loyal newsletter (biannual), etc.

Prepare social media campaigns and related assets for GivingTuesday, EOCY giving, Ramblers Rally Day, Loyola’s Day of Giving.

Seek out donor stories across all constituencies, develop donor‑centered messaging aligned with Loyola Academy’s values, celebrate giving, and promote a spirit of future generosity.

Produce the Annual Report and related donor impact stories.

Collaborate with the School Communications team as needed.

Maintain editorial calendars and ensure timely execution of deliverables.

Help manage donor‑related website forms and integrations with CRM tools, partnering with the Advancement Services team as needed.

Manage communications for donor events—including invitations, registration forms, signage, post‑event follow‑up (thank‑you emails, recap stories, attendee surveys).

Work closely with front‑line fundraisers (FLFs) to develop materials addressing individual donor priorities.

Serve as liaison between Development (Annual Giving, Major Gifts, and Alumni relations) and the School Communications team to coordinate messaging across channels (print, email, social media).

Ensure consistency in visual and written communications aligned with Loyola Academy’s brand guidelines.

Project Management

Maintain editorial calendars and meet deadlines.

Help manage donor‑related website forms and CRM integrations.

Manage communications for donor events—including invitations, registration, signage, follow‑up.

Coordinate with front‑line fundraisers and Development to align messaging.

Ensure brand consistency across all communications.

Required Skills and Characteristics

Superior writing and deep understanding of grammar and composition.

Fundamental grasp of the link between communication, storytelling, relationship building, and fundraising success.

Strong judgment for appropriate tone and style, and excellent accuracy.

Creative mindset: imagination, vision, and willingness to experiment with swift production of polished, professional materials.

Collaborative approach to problem‑solving.

Flexible, fast, adaptable writing ability tailored to specific audience segments.

Ability to multi‑task and manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.

Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, BlackBaud, Constant Contact, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Canva.

Knowledge of Asana, Raiser's Edge, website design, content management systems, HTML, CSS helpful.

Ability to work independently while contributing to the team.

Qualifications

3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in an educational setting.

Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing, or related field.

Portfolio of work demonstrating breadth across digital, print, and social media channels.

Salary Range: $72,000 - $78,000 Loyola Academy Benefit Summary
