Overview The Multimedia Specialist produces ongoing and current news in Corpus Christi through videos and graphics for TV, digital media, and marketing campaigns. Incumbents will also set up and broadcast internal and external public meetings and news conferences, film and photograph events, and develop video scripts, content, and programs. Incumbents will provide setup for broadcast productions throughout the city; attend events on nights and weekends, as needed, and provide technical support and assistance to other departments.
Responsibilities
Write, shoot and edit video and photo content for TV, social media platforms, websites, and marketing campaigns
Develop video programming ideas and topics, such as news, tutorials, product demos, promotional content, multi-cam shoots, internal training videos and messaging, and events
Work with departments to prepare videos that inform, educate, and engage our community
Set up, direct and broadcast public meetings, news conferences, and special events
Direct remote live stream equipment such as cameras, audio board, speakers and encoders
Upload and schedule public access channel content
Maintain and troubleshoot broadcast animation and encoders
Film and photograph events, projects and meetings
Set up and maintain internal messaging system monitors
Provide video and photo content for presentations
Support audio/video needs of other departments and meetings
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work
Must be available to work additional hours as needed
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement
In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS)
Two (2) years of experience
Licenses and Certifications Required
A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hiring
Employment Testing
Criminal Background Check: Yes
Police Background Check: No
Physical Exam: Yes
Basis of Rating A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview
