KNA is excited to hire a Senior Architectural Designer with experience working on public and private school projects in the State of New Jersey. The ideal candidate will have a background in K–12 public school projects and be familiar with the design-bid-build process. This role is responsible for taking direction from Project Managers on all projects and supporting the planning, design, and coordination of large, complex capital improvement projects for local school districts. The ideal candidate will be able to collaborate effectively with consultants and clients, as well as coordinate scheduling, deadlines, and project budgets with all team members. Typical responsibilities will include drafting and assisting in the preparation of project manuals.
Responsibilities
Executing the project manager's directions for all phases of the project, including project kick-off, surveying, construction document drawings, and construction administration. Is willing to learn how to update the public-school client’s Long Range Facilities Plans. Work well with all team players. Be able to work well on your own with a self-driven work ethic from project start to finish. Attend meetings and record discussions. Support project managers during construction administration with review of shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs. A Bachelor’s in Architecture or Master’s in Architecture from a NAAB-accredited institution. On the path to licensure. An Architecture License is a plus. 3-5 years of professional experience. Independently and comprehensively survey spaces. SD, DD, and CD production during the construction documents phase. Assisting with compiling all sets of drawings and specifications. Working efficiently with assigned tasks. Qualifications
Minimum 3 years working on school projects. Desire to learn new things and face project complexities with a drive for success. Firm understanding of educational architectural projects.
