Architectural Designer
FULL TIME - HYBRID —
This role works mostly remotely, but we do ask that candidates live in Southern New Hampshire or Massachusetts for occasional site visits. We appreciate your understanding!
About us Making Architecture is a design-forward, fully remote architecture studio focused on thoughtful, human-centered projects across residential, commercial, and adaptive reuse work. We are seeking a talented Architectural Designer to join our growing team and contribute to all phases of design, documentation, and project coordination.
About the Role The Architectural Designer will support project teams throughout the complete architectural process from concept design through construction administration. This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable working remotely while collaborating closely with colleagues, consultants, and clients.
Key Responsibilities Design + Documentation (SD, DD, CD)
Develop design concepts, diagrams, models, and visual presentations
Produce coordinated plans, elevations, sections, and details
Conduct planning studies, occupancy analyses, and code research
Prepare construction documents and assist with specifications
Maintain Revit models, drawing standards, and sheet organization
Project Support
Assist with permit and bid packages
Respond to consultant review comments and client feedback
Review submittals and shop drawings during CA
Participate in occasional site and client meetings
What We’re Looking For
2–4 years of architectural experience preferred
BS in Architecture, BArch, or MArch
Strong proficiency in Revit (required)
Proficiency in Sketchup and rendering softwares preferred
Foundational understanding of wood frame construction
Strong design, technical, and communication skills
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Experience across multiple project phases is a plus
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation: Based on experience
PTO, Sick Time and Health Stipend
Fully remote role with occasional in-person meetings
