Overview & Highlights The Grossmont‑Cuyamaca Community College District seeks a qualified individual to serve as a Specialty Lab Technician III for Fine Arts – Theatre Production Design. The incumbent operates lighting and sound systems, technical theatre applications of computers, and scene shop tools. They design, set up, and oversee lighting, sound, and scenery for a variety of productions, manage departmental season and budget plans, and maintain records of equipment and expenses. Knowledge of current lighting and sound technologies, including automated lighting fixtures and computer‑based audio systems, is essential.
This recruitment will establish an eligibility list valid for six months and will be used to fill current and future vacancies.
Benefits Full‑paid benefits for employees contracted for 20 or more hours per week.

19 paid holidays per year
Vacation – 10 days per year for 12‑month employees, increasing with length of service

Initial salary placement:
New employees start at Step A ($25.41 per hour) or Step B ($26.88 per hour).
Qualifications & Requirements Minimum qualifications:
Two years of college‑level training with specialized coursework in a related area.
Two years of related work experience, including computer hardware and software troubleshooting.

Answers to supplemental questions must be thorough and specific. Veterans may receive additional points as described.
Assessment may include application screening, supplemental training/experience documentation, written assessment, performance assessment, and oral assessment. Selection interview accommodations are available.
