Design & Release of Systems & Components Overview:

Our team is seeking a Design & Release Engineer to interface with cross‑functional teams and deliver functional solutions that meet design requirements and support program timing and cost objectives.

Responsibilities

Interface with cross functional team to design and develop functional solutions that achieve design requirements and ensure proper design interfaces with other components.

Collaborate with Design / Releasing teams to maintain consistency in requirements, standards, and practices across programs.

Translate functional objectives into technical requirements and solutions.

Create and analyze alternative design concepts and support benchmarking of competitive vehicles.

Maintain core Engineering Design Practices (EDP's) and implement innovation roadmaps to improve program timing.

Own and update DFMEA, DVPR, and FMEA to ensure functional objectives, guidelines, and corporate requirements are met.

Lead cost, value, and timeline management: develop timelines, drive programs, manage Tier I suppliers, and present action plans with status/risks to keep programs on track.

Conduct concept design and feasibility studies: CAD modeling, harness BOMs, packaging, and prototype build engineering coordination.

Lead and coordinate Product Development Team meetings with suppliers, change management, and build and launch support.

Develop and publish HVES module performance standards and execute programs through POP, meeting objectives for performance, cost, weight, investment, and quality.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or MBA from an ABET accredited university (or equivalent).

Experience with DFSS/Green Belt or Black Belt, Shainin Green Belt, and design for Six Sigma.

Proficient in NX, Teamcenter, CAD modeling, GD&T, and CAE/CFD.

Knowledge of CAN/LIN bus, circuit analysis, and automotive interior product design components/systems.

Strong technical knowledge of plastic design, mechanism interfaces, and metal structures design.

Excellent problem solving, communication, leadership, and ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.

Some travel required to supplier and corporate vehicle assembly plants.

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
