Base Pay Range

$70,000.00/yr – $105,000.00/yr

Position Overview

The Wall Panel Design Component Manager leads the wall panel design team at 5-STAR’s Kennesaw facility. This position combines technical expertise in wood framing design with team leadership, process improvement, and cross‑department coordination. The successful candidate will manage design output, ensure accuracy and code compliance, and drive innovation in component design software and workflow.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Management

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of wall panel designers.
• Oversee daily design workflow and manage project priorities.
• Review and approve panel layouts and shop drawings for accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate with production, engineering, and project management to ensure smooth handoff from design to fabrication.

Design & Technical Excellence

• Create and manage wall panel designs using MiTek, Alpine, or equivalent software.
• Maintain quality standards and design documentation protocols.
• Review architectural and structural drawings to ensure alignment with design intent.
• Troubleshoot and resolve design‑related issues during production or in the field.

Process & System Development

• Develop and improve design standards, templates, and best practices.
• Implement process efficiencies that increase throughput and reduce rework.
• Partner with leadership to evaluate and integrate new design technologies.
• Communicate effectively with architects, engineers, and field teams to clarify details.
• Participate in project kickoff and coordination meetings.
• Provide timely field support for constructability questions or design clarifications.

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum 5 years of experience in wall panel or structural component design.
• Proficiency with MiTek, Alpine, or equivalent wall panel design software.
• Strong understanding of wood framing systems and construction methods.
• Proven leadership or management experience within a design or production environment.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.

Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with multi‑family or large‑scale wood framing projects.
• Knowledge of material optimization or production integration systems.
