Job Description
Gilead is seeking a leader to champion the launch of our next groundbreaking HIV therapy— a novel, once‑weekly, oral combination of lenacapavir and islatravir. In this role, you’ll report directly to the Senior Director, HIV Treatment Marketing and play a central part in shaping and executing innovative marketing strategies to bring this transformative new treatment for people living with HIV.
As The HCP Promo Marketing Lead, You’ll
- Drive bold, creative campaigns that educate HCP and drive product adoption
- Amplify clinical data and develop compelling stories to differentiate this novel product
- Be at the forefront of healthcare innovation, leveraging cutting‑edge insights and fostering deep connections with our field sales team
Role Overview & Responsibilities
- Support development of HCP personal promotion strategy and executional plan in the U.S., ensuring alignment with brand objectives and evolving market dynamics
- Lead development of materials and messaging for HCP personal promotion, including call flows, objection handling, and sales tools tailored to a launch brand
- Drive strategic planning and execution for HCP engagement for a launch product
- Develop marketing solutions to a wide range of complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation
- Lead market research projects in close collaboration with cross‑functional partners
- Adapt and evolve global assets to meet U.S. HCP needs, including messaging and campaign refinement
- Generate and synthesize insights from multiple data sources to inform strategic decisions and optimise promotional impact
- Define and track marketing KPIs, using data to drive continuous improvement and performance optimisation
- Contribute to HIV portfolio strategy, providing insights and recommendations on go‑to‑market approaches and cross‑brand synergies
- Manage agency relationships and budgets, ensuring high‑quality output and fiscal discipline
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Regulatory, Legal, Medical Affairs, CL&D, II&D, Global Marketing, and Sales Leadership to ensure coordinated execution
- Evaluate and evolve marketing systems and processes to support operational excellence and scalability
- Deliver compelling presentations to internal stakeholders and external audiences, translating strategy into action
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies
Competencies And Expertise Required
- Track record of successful pharmaceutical/biotech marketing with launch experience preferred
- Proven ability to leverage market insights from multiple data sources, including market research, advisory boards and field force input to uncover needs and develop opportunities
- Experience with marketing strategy, sales and regulatory policies and practices
- Ability to conceive, develop and implement multi‑dimensional marketing and business plans
- Display of strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and ability to efficiently and productively communicate to a variety of groups and audiences
- Demonstrated understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements and impact on development of marketing materials
- Ability to successfully work with external agencies, including advertising, public relations and medical education vendors
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, with an understanding of expense budget planning and tracking
Qualifications and Preferred Experience
Minimum: Bachelor’s degree with at least 12 years of marketing experience or Master’s degree or PhD with at least 10 years of marketing experience
- Preferred:
- MBA with 10+ years of pharma/biotech marketing experience in product launch and portfolio management
- Collaboration with Field Sales Teams and/or direct pharmaceutical sales experience a plus
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements impacting marketing materials
- Prior experience with advertising, digital, or communications agencies advantageous
Salary Range
$226,185.00 – $292,710.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. The position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock‑based long‑term incentives, paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company‑sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
