Wireless RF Technician I – Juneau, Alaska

Insight Global is seeking a Wireless RF Technician I to join our client’s team in Juneau, Alaska. The role requires traveling throughout Alaska and is responsible for installing, testing, and performing operational site acceptance for wireless equipment.

Responsibilities

• Install, adjust, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain RF transmission lines, antennas, and related equipment such as microwave systems, tower radios, fiber cabling, and lighting systems.
• Provide remote technical support via phone, CLI, and ticketing tools, and operate test equipment for corrective tasks on towers, antennas, cabling, and grounding systems.
• Support RF engineering and optimization projects through pre‑ and post‑adjustments and statistical analysis.
• Conduct site audits, maintain logs, update cell site and tower information, and ensure compliance with FAA, FCC, and company standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Associate’s Degree in electronics, telecommunications trade school, or equivalent training.
• 2 years of experience in field operations telecommunications industry or 4 years without a degree.
• Minimum of 1 year in wireless telecommunications, wireless site construction, or related field.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain tower climber certification upon hire.
• Experience with Linux, Unix, Cisco IOS, command line interface, Secure Shell, and File Transfer Protocol.
• Knowledge of RF propagation principles and concepts such as UMTS/HSPA, CDMA/EVDO, LTE, and microwave.

Compensation

Base pay range: $54,080.00/yr – $68,640.00/yr.
Hourly rate: $26/hr – $33/hr.
Additional compensation: Sign‑on bonus.
