Staff Writer Job at Farm Talk Newspaper in Parsons

Farm Talk is a weekly agricultural newspaper covering southeast Kansas, northeast Oklahoma, southwest Missouri, and northwest Arkansas.
Weekly topics include everything from full-length feature articles on area producers to stories covering crops, cattle and forages in the coverage area.

We’re looking for a person who …

• Can write feature stories. Can edit weekly press releases and format them for use in Farm Talk.
• Is familiar with photography and can shoot photographs necessary to illustrate feature stories, or is willing to learn.
• Has a working knowledge of computer programs such as InDesign and Adobe Photoshop, or is willing to learn.
• Is Internet savvy and able to use the Internet as a tool to come up with editorial subject matter for the weekly paper and the online products.

You’ll bring to us …

• A Bachelor’s degree in agricultural communications or related field preferred but not required.
