Job Summary The Marketing Community Manager serves as the essential connection between Mitten Extracts and the budtender/loyalty community across Michigan. This role is responsible for leading the planning, budgeting, and execution of the Mitten Club (budtender education and engagement, events, community engagement), Grow Room (Event Series), in‑store activations, and community‑driven events. In addition to live experiences, this role extends those conversations into the digital space—creating engaging online content, recaps, and social amplification that allow in‑person activations to reach a broader audience. The Manager ensures that every touchpoint— in‑store, event, or online—reflects Mitten’s premium brand standards and drives loyalty within the budtender and retail ecosystem. This position plays a pivotal role in strengthening relationships with the budtender community, growing brand affinity, and reinforcing Mitten Extracts as Michigan’s leading cannabis brand.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Create and manage Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Mitten Club events, Grow Room (Event Series), and activations to ensure seamless execution.

Lead the planning, coordination, and oversight of all Mitten Club educational events across the state, including budget tracking and reporting.

Manage all Social Hours and hybrid events, ensuring alignment with brand strategy and community goals.

Recruit, hire, and train brand ambassadors, ensuring field, event, and community teams operate to Mitten’s standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

Organize and lead budtender social hours, education sessions, awards programs, giveaways, and exclusive apparel or product initiatives to build brand loyalty and drive engagement.

Develop and distribute marketing materials, digital assets, and resources for the Mitten Club, ensuring all assets meet brand guidelines.

Monitor industry trends to proactively plan and adapt event and education initiatives.

Oversee the execution of all budtender‑facing initiatives, ensuring operational efficiency and cost control.

Create and manage event budgets, ensuring cost‑effectiveness and alignment with overall financial plans.

Digital & Social Community Extension

Extend in‑person events into digital conversations by creating event recaps, social media content, livestreams, and behind‑the‑scenes coverage.

Collaborate with the content manager to translate activations into online storytelling (posts, reels, TikToks, live Q&A).

Foster an active online budtender and retail community through engagement campaigns, digital giveaways, and content series tied to Mitten Club and Grow Room events.

Track and analyze digital performance tied to events to measure reach, engagement, and amplification of brand activation.

Education and Product Development Collaboration

Partner with the product development team to remain up‑to‑date on upcoming product launches.

Lead educational initiatives to ensure that budtenders and retail staff are knowledgeable and equipped to represent Mitten Extracts.

Develop and manage state‑specific budtender VIP programs.

Recruit and cultivate dedicated brand advocates within dispensaries to strengthen Mitten’s offline and online community presence.

Documentation and Reporting

Contribute to the creation and refinement of SOPs for events and operations, ensuring consistency and efficiency.

Maintain accurate reporting for Mitten Club and Grow Room events, tracking performance, insights, and learnings.

Survey and Initiative Management

Create and manage surveys for budtender programs to gather insights, measure campaign performance, and identify opportunities for improvement.

Budgeting and Planning

Collaborate with internal marketing and product teams to align event planning and budgeting with organizational goals, ensuring efficient resource allocation.

Work closely with Mitten’s product, marketing, and educational teams to ensure seamless coordination and effective execution of all community‑facing initiatives—both offline and digital.

Required Skills/Abilities

Must be 21+ and possess a valid driver’s license.

Strong understanding of wholesale and retail cannabis marketing strategies, with an emphasis on brand activation, digital amplification, and community engagement.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build meaningful relationships at all levels of the retail and budtender community.

Proficient with project management tools (Excel, Asana, Monday.com, etc.) and comfortable using social media management and analytics tools.

Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.

Strong problem‑solving and strategic thinking skills, with a focus on maximizing ROI across in‑person and online channels.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

4+ years of experience in marketing programs, campaigns, and events, with a proven ability to execute successful community and digital brand initiatives.

4+ years of team management experience (hiring, training, and supervising community or event teams).

Cannabis industry experience preferred but not required.

Demonstrated experience with budget management, reporting, and event planning.

Cannabis industry experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements

Must be willing and able to travel frequently across Michigan to support field marketing, in‑store events, and community initiatives.

Must be able to carry 50 lbs of weight.
