Job Responsibilities
The English, Speech, and Journalism Department invites applications for an English Instructor position beginning Fall 2025 for the 2025-2026 academic year. Primary responsibilities include administering courses, delivering instruction, designing and developing curriculum, evaluating student assignments in accordance with departmental standards, advising students, and providing service to the college. Courses are taught in a traditional classroom setting, hybrid, and online. Classes are conducted on all TTC campuses and at local high schools, requiring travel.
The successful candidate should be available to teach in the classroom, online, day and/or evening courses, and at all locations as assigned. Excellence in teaching, demonstrated through effective instructional strategies and techniques, is required.
The normal teaching load is 5-6 courses per semester in fall and spring, with possible summer teaching assignments. This position reports directly to the department head and requires functioning in an environment characterized by continual changes in information technology.
Minimum And Additional Requirements This position requires a master’s degree in English or a master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in English at the 500-level or higher.
Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching college-level composition, literature, and technical writing courses at a two-year, open-access institution is highly preferred. The ability to work effectively in a diverse community is essential, and educational development experience (working with faculty and/or students on teaching and learning assessment) is desired.

Salary is commensurate with education and experience, with a starting salary of $80,000 for 12 months.
