Summary The Interior Designer Position will be responsible for meeting with customers, selecting and specifying interior finishes and furnishings that are aligned with the overall design concept of projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Lead design direction on interiors projects, including programming to interpret client needs, conceptual design, design development, and take ownership of budget and schedule.

Collaborate on interiors projects, including programming to interpret client needs, conceptual design, design development, and work within a budget and schedule.

Prepare Material Boards, finish plans, specifications, and material selections required for construction.

Manage and coordinate relationships with furniture vendors, including updating resource library with new offerings. Exceptional knowledge of commercial materials and finishes required.

Participate in client presentations in office and off site, including occasional travel.

Work closely with project managers to ensure design details are communicated accurately.

Manage timing of furniture shipments and coordinate information to preferred install partners for accurate installation and minimal punch lists.

Review & markup construction drawings for conditions that affect the final design implementation (a plus).

Qualifications

Exceptional attention to detail

Knowledge of commercial interior materials including writing specifications, appropriate use/locations of materials, and cost

Ability to communicate effectively to clients, subcontractors, internal construction team, support office staff, and design team

Ability to work with design team

Ability to handle multiple projects at once

Take initiative to solve problems while maintaining budget goals and construction timelines

Computer Programs

2020 Cap (a plus)

Adobe Creative Suite Required

AutoCAD Required

Microsoft Office Required

SketchUp (a plus)

CET (a plus)

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, or equivalent.

5-10 years’ experience as an interior designer with experience in selecting and specifying FF&E.
