part-time Digital Communications Specialist
in
Fruit Heights, Utah . This role develops and executes the shelter's digital strategy across social media to boost awareness of the shelter's mission, drive adoptions, and support donation marketing efforts. Key Details
Department: Animal Care Salary: $23 – $35 per hour Job Type: Part‑time (0–29 hours per week) Location: Fruit Heights, Utah Closing Date: November 30, 2025 Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and continuously refine a comprehensive, data‑driven social media strategy to increase animal adoptions, improve community engagement, and maximize donation marketing. Plan and execute social media advertising campaigns and coordinate with the marketing team on integrated marketing initiatives, product launches, and events. Plan, create, curate, edit, and publish engaging content (text, original photography, short‑form videos, and basic graphic design assets) daily across all relevant social media platforms. Write, edit, draft, and design using tools like Canva or Adobe Express, or otherwise produce relevant, original, high‑quality creative digital content. Stay up‑to‑date with the latest social media trends, algorithm changes, and best practices, and identify opportunities for the brand to participate in relevant conversations. Use analytical tools (Google Analytics, Hootsuite, Meta Insights, etc.) to track, measure, and analyze the performance of campaigns and content, report insights to management for strategy optimization. Monitor all social media channels to manage community interactions, respond promptly and thoughtfully to comments, direct messages, and brand mentions, and cultivate a positive online presence. Monitor partner agency activity (local rescues, shelters, elected offices, city departments) to identify collaborative content opportunities and maintain strong inter‑agency relationships. Respond appropriately to social media messages, reviews, questions, complaints, and other interactions, supporting the Director in real‑time crisis and emergency communications as needed. Assist with maintaining website content under the direction of the Director and Deputy Director. Participate in communication committees, projects, and events. Operate a motor vehicle safely and in compliance with all Utah laws and regulations. Perform related duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field, plus one year of related experience. Preference for direct professional experience working with or volunteering for a non‑profit organization, animal welfare group, or public‑facing community agency. Apply Now
